How do I transfer all my computer data in a disk?
Q. I have so many files (pictures, documents, videos, games) and I need to transfer all of them to a disk cause I'm getting my laptop fixed and they said that I should transfer my data. I have a total of three disks in total for the files to be transfered in.

Is there a quicker way for me to transfer all my data because there really are a lot of 'em...or should I transfer one by one?

A. Do you mean external hard drive / disk? If you're saving stuff like videos and games, that's the way to go. There isn't a backup method faster than directly transferring the data to another hard drive. Only thing I'd recommend is making sure you have enough space on the disk(s) for the data. If you're transferring ALL your data, it might be good to get synchronization software and let it do the work. For Windows there's a free program called AllSync (haven't personally used it). For newer Macs, you can use Time Machine (great).

How to transfer data from my old laptop to my new one.?
Q. Hey, i just recently broke my laptop so i had to get a new one. i was wondering how i can transfer the data from that one to this one. the old one turns on, but the screen does not work so i cant see anything on it. THANK YOU.

A. The only way to do this is to hook up an external monitor, and just hope you can see anything. If this doesn't work i don't know how you can fix this. If this does work get a USB or CD to copy from old computer and paste to new computer.

How do i get files off my computer?
Q. I have a virus that wont let me open any existing programs, or any programs i download off the web, I want to get my files off this computer WITHOUT transferring data using another computer and cable. I tried using a disc to write the files to, but the disc wont show up in my computer because of the virus, Would a flash drive appear in the computer and allow me to save my files? Thanks for the help guys!

A. I hope I'm not too late on this. I added this to my answer to your other question (I didn't know your situation when I first answered).

You can still run programs if you start in Safe Mode. The malware affecting your computer shouldn't run while in this mode.
Restart your computer and start tapping F8 until the "safemode with networking" option appears and select that.
From here, you can move your files using any method you like (a USB flashdrive should be accessible). You can also install and run Malwarebytes' Anti-malware. Allow it to update itself and run a scan. When it's done (let it fix the problems it finds), reboot and run it again. In a lot of cases this is all you need to do to get rid of your malware.
